Cyber-Fraud! Now What?

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, The presentation by Lynn Danis will outline the following:

  • Fraud stats / some common scams and new trends

  • Seizures, Disruption and Sharing Intel
  • Biometrics
  • Victim Assistance and who to call


Lynn Danis has a Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Native Studies and has been with the OPP for 18 years. Lynn has worked in general duties, traffic services, major crimes, was a liaison for hate crimes and victims’ services and was a regional intelligence coordinator.  Lynn had the opportunity to lead the OPP’s new Cyber-Enabled Fraud Team who was the 2024 recipient of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) award for Policing Partnership and Innovation Award. She has been working with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre’s operational support unit under the OPP’s Anti-Rackets Branch since 2015. Lynn is currently a Detective Sergeant, team lead with the OPP and police liaison for the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
