Investigative Journalism with Martin Himel 

Martin Himel is a Television director, producer and senior correspondent. Through his two production companies, Vigilance Productions Inc. and Elsash Productions Ltd., he has produced major television series, ground-breaking documentaries and news coverage for major Canadian, American and European broadcasters.

Martin is the proud recipient of the Amnesty International Award for the best long-form documentary, Arrest, on TVO. This documentary explores the thousands who are unjustly arrested, and on how detrimental it is to their livelihood to be wrongly accused. 

Martin Himel also works as an investigative journalist from some of the most turmoil areas of the world. His work has helped shed light on stories that may have never been told. For example, Martin’s investigative documentary about two undercover agents infiltrating ISIS has extraordinary footage, never before seen. 

The CPIO is pleased to have Martin Himel speak to our members about his experiences as an investigative journalist. He will share the challenges he has had to face, and the strategies used to overcome them.
