Overall Summary of Position:
Reporting to the owner, the incumbent will have experience conducting open source investigations, providing complex analytical litigation support services and conducting white collar investigations. The incumbent is also interested in instructing others in these areas, is ambitious and is interested in sharing their ideas to help the firm reach its strategic objectives.
Above all else the primary role is to fulfill our commitment of high quality services to our clients in our core practice areas. The successful incumbent will be bright, professional, ambitious, technology oriented, persistent, and creative and can work either independently or in a team while enjoying variety in their job.
Ability to use an investigative mindset in order to approach a problem from different perspectives and explore all angles;
Ability to think analytically and use advanced problem-solving skills;
Ability to write detailed, comprehensive reports;
Excellent oral, communication and presentation skills;
Comfortable with technology such as social media, spreadsheet programs, conducting inquiries on databases, reporting software;
Ability to conduct open source investigation inquiries in an investigatory or litigation support capacity;
Ability to conduct interviews, analyze communications between parties, combine information from disparate sources;
Ability to be discreet and comfortable handling sensitive information;
Ability to trace funds and review documents;
Ability to prepare for or facilitate courses on open source investigation, analytics, or other investigative/intelligence skills.
Education, Skills & Experience:
A degree or diploma in a related field;
A valid Ontario Private Investigators License or are capable of obtaining one;
Strong writing skills;
Strong investigative skills;
Strong communication and analysis skills;
Experience in analytics using spreadsheets or other analytics software;
Experience conducting investigation or intelligence gathering;
Experience providing instructional services to either internal clients or external clients;
Experience in conducting open source investigation inquiries in an investigatory or litigation support capacity.
A Certified Fraud Examiners designation, or a designation in accounting, law, intelligence or investigation;
A valid Security Clearance (Enhanced Reliability or higher);
Strong attention to detail, extremely organized and concise;
Ability to perform well in client facing roles with an ambition to eventually move to business development activities;
Experience in a corporate environment, an understanding of budgets, deliverables, etc.
Private sector or public sector experience are welcome.
Some travel within Canada or internationally may be required.
