Defending Canadian Insureds In The US

Challenges and strategies for handling claims in the US with a focus on New York and Florida. Topics will include differences between state and federal court, nuclear verdicts and effective claim resolution.

With 25 years of legal experience, Vince Saccomando primarily concentrates his practice on insurance defense, professional-malpractice defense, and insurance coverage. He regularly represents clients in both state and federal court, defending both insureds and self-insureds in claims involving products liability, construction accidents, trucking accidents, large-scale property damage and fire loss, and premises liability. Vince has also defended products-liability claims involving a wide variety of industrial, commercial, and consumer products.

Mike Forte practices in the areas of trucking, casualty and product liability. He defends clients in trucking accidents involving negligence, catastrophic injury and wrongful death in both state and federal courts. A large portion of his practice involves defending Canadian drivers in lawsuits stemming from Florida accidents. Mike has written and lectured extensively on cross-border issues important to Canadians. He also defends manufacturers of medical equipment and exercise equipment, as well as automobile and airplane manufacturers in product liability matters, and represents retail companies across the state in matters involving negligent security and premises liability.
