Trauma informed investigations is a principle that must be incorporated into today’s investigation processes. While most investigators strive to be cognizant of others feelings and work with people in a cooperative and understanding manner, Trauma informed practice takes that to the next level. This brief webinar provides a primer on Trauma Informed Investigations. We discuss what trauma is, who experiences it, concepts of intersectionality, bias, and interviewing in a trauma informed manner. Of course this topic is very large and can’t be covered fully in a 45 minute webinar, but participants will gain a basis of understanding that could lead them to pursue additional education on the topic.
